The Owl And The Pussycat Corky Portwine Illustrated Edition eBook Edward Lear Sonya Saturday

This is such a colorful and fun book to look through. I think it would be a great hit with most kids. It brought a smile to my day today, re-reading this timeless work and enjoying the artwork in this ebook.

My only suggestion would be to make the pictures bigger than they are in this ebook. Rather small throughout, especially considering the detailed drawing in some of them. Definitely not being shown to their best advantage and they really are lovely!

I know as a kindle author myself that sometimes photos, pictures etc...are decreased in size by KDP but if at all possible, it would be nice to have these larger, without having to click the zoom on each page.

Original poetry side-by-side with great illustration. I also enjoyed the one page bio on the author at the end of the book and am hopeful there are more illustrated classics of Edward Lear's work out there. Terrific!
I remembered this poem from my early childhood school days. It is as nonsensical as it was then, with fresh new illustrations, this little book for children will please them and bring back simple memories for the parent or teacher who reads it to them.
The "Owl and the Pussycat" may be the best of Edward Lear's nonsense poetry. In this digital version, Sam Tannen has modernized, brilliantly colored, and updated the illustrations. While the language of the poem may be outdated, it has remained a favorite for nearly two hundred years. Children will delight in its absurdity. The book is a good read aloud or bedtime story. Younger children will need some of the more obscure phrases explained. Nice addition to a child's poetry collection.
